7GIF lets you play animated GIFs in a simple way. Of course, you can also preview GIFs by simply dragging them to your web browser; however, 7GIF does much more than that. Since the program has a simple very straightforward interface, it’s unlikely anyone can have any difficulties with it.
The utility supports opening GIF files of any length and size. A simple set of buttons allows you to open the animation as well as start and pause playing it. There’s also a button that allows you to modify playback speed, move through each of the frames and rewind the animation. Besides, you can also change the zoom level and print the frame being displayed. As in most media players, there are two more buttons to play the previous or next file respectively.
For me, the most useful of this program’s features is that you can use it to export either individual frames or the whole sequences as static images. Luckily, it supports various popular formats, such as JPG, BMP, PNG, TIFF, WMF and static GIF.
All in all, 7GIF provides an easy way to preview and export parts of GIF animations. It’s absolutely free and very light, so there’s nothing to lose if you at least try. However, you should be aware that it can’t help you edit animations, so you need another type of application to do that.
